Create a Logo
Open Illustrator.
Open a new document. Make it 45 picas by 15 picas. Call it logo1

Use your skill to create a title page with a logo.
A) Create Text
a) Select the T tool.
b) Select Arial Black or a font of your choosing.
c) Select size 60 pt.
d) Click once on the Document and see a blinking cursor.
Type Signed News.

Select the T tool.
Select the text and center it.
Select a fill color that complements your InDesign Master page.
Select a stroke.
Select an effect. I choose >Effect >Stylize >Drop Shadow
B) Create color background and border.
Select a fill color and a stroke color.
Select the rectangle tool.
Draw a rectangle that covers the document. Your text will be hidden. Don't worry.

With the rectangle still select choose >Object >Arrange >Send to back.


Select the selection tool.
Select the rectangle if it isn't already.
Select the stroke fill to bring it forward.
Select the brush palette and select some brushes.

Pick a stroke size.
Create a border.
Select the fill and toggle the opacity to taste.
C) Create logo
a) Select the T tool.
b) Select Arial Black or a font of your choosing.
c) Select size 60 pt.
d) Click once on the Document outside the imageable area (in the white area) and see a blinking cursor.
Type -3+2.

Select the selection tool.
Select the text.
>Type >Create Outlines.
Select the direct Selection Tool.
Deselect and Select. Grab a point and distort your operation as you wish. Using both the Selection
and Direct Selection tool, create a unique logo.
When the logo is complete, select it, copy and paste as needed and bring it onto your documents imageable area.
When the logo is in place, select the text and >Object >Arrange >Bring to Front
Save the document in your signed news folder.
Create a second logo. Create a 22 pica by 15 pica document. Call it logo2.
A) Copy and paste the rectangle from logo1 to the logo2 document. Resize it to fit logo 2.
B) Copy and paste the logo.
Save the document in your signed news folder.
