Content should be selected to align with course curriculum. Any math topic can be chosen. Topics such as Solving Equations, Trigonometry, the Pythagorean Theorem.
Each student can select and explain a different topic or it can be the same for the class. If each student selects a different topic, they can also give a presentation.

Students, for example, can make a news
story about how someone solved the type of problem tested
on the regents, describing step by step using Who, What,
When, Where, Why and How. (Johnny FOILed an equation using
the FOIL method.) Another lesson might focus on a story
about the relationship between angles in parallel lines
crossed by a transversal.  (One math students called
the congruent angles cousins, some of whom never met and
some who lived across the street. She had to understand it
in order to write about it.)  They could write a word
story about a graphed equation.
